Terms of use and terms of care.

These terms cover two things: the basis on which you use this website, and the basis on which we provide chiropractic care at our clinic.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by The Spinal Health Centre Limited, trading as Elaris Chiropractic & Wellbeing Centre — a company registered in England and Wales, company number 05040972, whose clinic is at Orchard House, 33 Colchester Road, Great Totham, Maldon, Essex CM9 8DG.

Our chiropractors are registered with and regulated by the General Chiropractic Council: Dr Stephen Davison (no. 01149) and Dr Jo Davison (no. 01580).

2. This website is information, not medical advice

Everything on this website is general information about chiropractic care and the conditions we see. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment recommendation, and not a substitute for being assessed in person.

Reading this site does not make you our patient, and no practitioner–patient relationship is created until you attend an appointment and we have assessed you.

Please do not delay seeking medical help because of something you have read here. If your symptoms are severe, worsening, or include any of the warning signs described on our condition pages — such as numbness around the saddle area, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a sudden severe headache unlike any before — seek urgent medical attention rather than booking with us.

3. Appointments and booking

Appointments can be booked by telephone or through the online booking system linked from this site, which is operated by a third-party provider under our instructions.

Booking an appointment is a request, which we confirm. We may need to change or reschedule an appointment — for example, because of practitioner illness — and if we do we will contact you as soon as we can and offer the earliest alternative.

If you need to cancel or move an appointment, please give us as much notice as you can, so the time can be offered to someone else. Our current cancellation and missed-appointment terms are given to you at the time of booking and at your first visit.

4. Fees and payment

Our current fees are set out at the clinic and explained to you before any care begins. At your report of findings visit we set out the recommended plan and what it will cost, so that you can decide with the full picture in front of you.

Payment is due at the time of your appointment unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We are a private clinic; we are not an NHS provider.

Where a diagnostic service such as digital x-rays or a blood panel is recommended, we will tell you the cost before it is arranged. You are never obliged to proceed.

5. Your care

We will explain what we have found, what we recommend, and what the alternatives are, so that any consent you give is informed. You may ask questions at any point, decline any part of the care we recommend, seek a second opinion, or stop care at any time.

Chiropractic care carries some risks as well as benefits. These will be discussed with you as part of obtaining your consent, and you are welcome to ask about them at any stage.

Please tell us about any relevant medical condition, medication, pregnancy or change in your health, both at your first visit and as things change. Some information affects which techniques are appropriate for you.

We do not guarantee any particular outcome. Anyone promising a guaranteed result for a health condition should be treated with caution.

6. Reviews and testimonials on this site

The reviews shown on this website were left by patients on our Google Business Profile and are reproduced in their own words, edited only for length. They describe those individuals' experiences. Individual results vary, and nothing in a review should be taken as a prediction of your own outcome.

7. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of your care, please tell us — we would much rather hear it and put it right. Contact us at hello@elarischiropractic.co.uk or speak to Stephen or Jo directly.

You may also raise a concern with the General Chiropractic Council, which regulates all UK chiropractors, at gcc-uk.org.

8. Our content

The text, images, logos and design of this website belong to The Spinal Health Centre Limited or are used with permission. The Elaris Method™ and Elaris Healing System are our marks.

You are welcome to read, print or share pages for your own personal use, and to link to us. Please do not republish our content commercially, or copy it onto another website, without our written permission.

9. Links to other sites

We link to our booking provider, to Amazon for Stephen's book, to the General Chiropractic Council and to a small number of other organisations. We are not responsible for the content of any site we link to, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on it.

10. Availability of this site

We aim to keep this website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or remove content at any time.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be limited — and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on general information published on this website, as opposed to advice given to you in person after an assessment.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page, with the date at the top, is the one that applies.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
